@davidmaraniss Healthy disagreement is always good. I'll believe the idea that this is simply about "giving back" when I see it. Gilbert's impact on Detroit has been too far in the opposite direction--corporatism, gentrification, seeding 2 Detroits--not to earn some healthy skepticism.
